'It Will Take You Places': Video Of Auto Driver Speaking Fluent English Is Impressive

It is not every day that we find an auto-driver showing remarkable fluency in English. Challenging the obvious stereotype that English is just confined to the educated and professionals, a Maharashtrian auto-driver has defied all the odds. In a now-viral video, the elderly auto-driver can be seen speaking in fluent English while conversing with his passenger. Not just that, he also speaks about the importance of learning English, as he believes the language can take people places. The video was shared by an Instagram user named Bhushan, who stated that it was captured in Maharashtra’s Amravati district.

In the video, Bhushan is left in awe as the auto-driver starts talking in English. “Even I was stunned and stuttered a bit, while speaking to him to my surprise seeing his fluency in English,” he wrote in the caption. In another text on the video, Bhushan shared that the auto-driver was trying to educate people to learn interesting languages.

The auto-driver explained that knowing English will help people travel to London, Paris, the USA and many other places. He highlighted it further by giving an example of how people could talk to people in foreign lands. “That is why I am telling you, you learn English and you talk in English. It is an international language,” the driver asserted.

Before moving away, the driver also asked about Bhushan and his residency. The video was shared on June 25 and has since garnered a lot of reactions on the platforms. A user wrote, “He sounds like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam,” while another commented, “His English is much better than mine after 16 years of education.”

Another wrote, “What a sweet person.” A user also shared details about the auto driver’s family and commented, “Meet Yadav uncle. Their auto rickshaw has been in front of our house for many years, so we have known them. From good morning to good evening to good evening to everyone they speak in English. Gone through so much struggle. Indeed a gentleman, hardworking, kind, friendly, fun person.”

This video came months after another clip from Kerala left the internet amused. In a kind gesture, a Kerala autodriver helped a UK vlogger, who was struggling in the intense heat and with payment issues. While the vlogger was overwhelmed by the auto driver’s thoughtful gesture, he was even more impressed when the latter spoke fluent English.
