The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most challenging exams for students nationwide. It demands dedication, discipline and careful planning from aspirants. While success in this exam opens doors to prestigious engineering colleges, many students face disappointment despite repeated attempts and comedian Appurv Gupta is among few unfortunate aspirants. In a recent X post, Appurv Gupta revealed that he couldn’t secure a spot in prestigious IIT or IIM institutions. Instead, he enrolled in a private college in the National Capital Region (NCR), where he encountered numerous challenges that significantly contributed to his personal growth. Gupta emphasised the importance of learning from failures and shared five valuable lessons drawn from his own experiences.
Gupta wrote, “I failed in JEE twice. Did not get into IIT & IIMs. Started studying in a private college in NCR, with no scope of what I will do ahead. Either to go for a Job or do an MBA. It was brutal, but the trials I faced shaped me into a stronger, more resilient individual. All those TRIALS made me get closer to doing things that I never thought of. Through all the challenges, I learned some important lessons it taught me
To keep trying even when things didn’t go my way.
Ways to move forward when my original plans didn’t work out.
How to learn from my mistakes and grow stronger.
That putting in effort and staying committed pays off.
The importance of believing in myself and never giving up.”
“These lessons shaped me into who I am today – someone who doesn’t give up easily and is ready to face any challenge head-on. In the end, it’s not about where you start, but how you choose to navigate the journey,” Appurv Gupta concluded.
