Anupamaa has been one of the most popular TV shows, with a massive viewership. The makers have kept the audience engaged with twists and turns in the plot. The show has seen the entry of several new characters in addition to the lead including Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna, and Sudhanshu Pandey. Sukriti Kandpal joined as Shruti when the show’s premise shifted to the USA. Now that the show is heading towards another leap, the actress is set to bid farewell to her role.
In a conversation with Times Now, Sukirti Kandpal confirmed the development and also revealed the reason for quitting the popular show. “I came into the show as a cameo. I feel it wouldn’t be possible to make me look old technically. A lot of things must have been decided by the makers. I was signed for six months. I am happy. The journey was nice,” she said.
Sukirti Kandpal played the role of Anuj’s (Gaurav Khanna) fiance on the show.
As per the current track on the show, Shruti’s plan against Anupama was uncovered in front of Anuj and the entire family. Eventually, Shruti left a letter for Anuj and decided to return to the USA, suggesting that her role had ended.
Sharing how gradually her character has received closure, the actress stated that Shruti has understood that Anuj and Anupama’s bond is quite strong. Moreover, she would not want to come in between them. The actress added, “ I was initially signed for three months. Later, it was extended to six months. It was a very pleasant experience on the sets of Anupamaa. The whole cast and crew are very cordial. It was a short and sweet journey. People liked my character and style.”

Meanwhile, the makers have released the promo for the upcoming leap on Anupamaa. As per the teaser, Anupama and Anuj will separate yet again, and viewers are eager to know what will happen to them in the future. Produced by Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi, Anupamaa went on air in 2020. The show has constantly topped the ratings since its premiere.
