Twitter launches emoji for Premier League fans
Twitter has added a new feature that allows fans of the English Premier League to call up team crests after typing hashtags for their favourite teams.

Football fans can now pledge their allegiances on Twitter with new emoji.

Twitter has added a new feature that allows fans of the English Premier League to call up team crests after typing hashtags for their favourite teams, such as #saintsfc for Southampton, #MUFC for Manchester United and #CFC for Chelsea.

Fans can use these Twitter emojis to show support for their club over the course of the season.

Starting today, emojis will show up when any user Tweets using specific dedicated hashtags during the opening weekend.

The feature will be live until midnight on Monday following MNF, but will return at various key moments throughout the season (such as #DeadlineDay and the final run-in).

The micro-blogging site did the same for the World Cup, rolling out emoji for national teams last summer.
