Samsung To End The Galaxy S26 Flagship Model In 2026? Here’s What We Know
Samsung recently launched its new products in the Plus and Ultra moniker, could it do the same for smartphones as well?

Samsung has been making foldables and its premium Galaxy S phones for many years now, but in the next few years we could see some major changes from the company. Reports this week suggest Samsung could shelve the regular Galaxy S series model, starting from 2026.

We have already seen the brand ditch the Galaxy Tab S10 variant with its launch recently, and it won’t be surprising to see the Galaxy S26 lineup only have the Plus and the Ultra models in the market.

Samsung Making Big Changes For Flagships But Why

The company has not officially shared the news but looking at its history and how the Galaxy Note lineup ended, we can see multiple reasons for Samsung to make the rumoured change.

Some of you might say that having a regular variant allows more people to buy the flagship hardware for a fraction of the price that you pay for the Plus and Ultra variant. Having said that, Samsung could see it in a different light, and make this call purely as a business decision, which allows the company to focus on the higher-earning products.

Does this mean the Galaxy S25 could be Samsung’s last vanilla variant ever, reports seem to think that way but for now, we’ll be happy to see the brand unleash its 2025 models with more emphasis and evolution of the Galaxy AI features.

Galaxy AI Not Free For Long

Speaking of which, the company is building up a strong core of products that support the AI features that are free for now but 2025 could be a different story.

We already know the company is going to put a fee on using the AI features in the next year or so, but the launch product launches have come with a cheeky footnote which gives us a clear timeline on when the Galaxy AI features, at least some of them, could become paid.

The brand knows that asking people to pay for all the AI features might not be appealing, so keeping it limited to select features could be one way out of this situation.

What's your reaction?
