While bringing in several new features with the latest software update for the OnePlus 6, OnePlus has removed one particular feature from its latest flagship as well. OnePlus 6, post its launch, used to offer an Always-On Display to its users. Now the company has allegedly removed the feature citing battery issues. The software update was rolled out just a few days after the OnePlus 6 made its market debut.
As per recent online reports, the Always-On-Display on the OnePlus 6 now no longer appears as an option for the OnePlus 6 users to choose. Prior to the update, users could toggle amongst an Always-On-Display and Lift-Up-Display. OnePlus, in an official statement, blamed a battery issue for removing the feature altogether "We have an official update from our Technical Team confirming that always on display on OnePlus 6 was removed due to battery saving concern."

Always-On-Display is a feature found on many smartphones and it is a wonder why OnePlus could not pull off the same in its unarguably the most powerful device to date. The feature provides an easy way for the users to have a glance at the notifications and the time and date. It is unclear if the company will roll out the feature on the smartphone again post the bug fixes or issue removal.
