New Delhi: In a bizarre incident in Parkville, Maryland, a 23-year-old man hailed an Uber car to get away after robbing a store at gunpoint.
The suspect, Dashawn Terrell Cochran, took a bottle of medicine to the register counter and then pointed a gun at an employee demanding money. He then reportedly got away with the cash and called an Uber car to flee.
The Baltimore County Police Department said that Cochran was seen getting into the back of a silver Lexus and when officers pulled the car over, they found it was an Uber driver.
A report on ABC News notes that the Uber driver and a second passenger were released since it was determined they "had nothing to do with the robbery," police said.
Cochran has been charged with armed robbery, assault, and theft less than $1,000.
