Apple is set for a busy 2024 and all eyes will be eager to see what the company offers with the new iPhone 16 series this year. The first big change that we saw with the iPhone 15 lineup was the debut of the USB C charging port, and the dynamic island notch making its way to all the models, including the vanilla and Plus variant.
But the upcoming iPhone 16 series has been termed to be lacklustre in a recent report, which has taken out $100 billion from Apple’s market value in January 2024.
For a company like Apple that’s a small change but the impact of the iPhone 16 model likely to be an iterative upgrade will surely put more pressure on the company. The report from Barclays is concerned about Apple’s upcoming iPhone launch, its ongoing tussle in China with Huawei, and the production issues faced in the past year or so.
The analyst from Barclays even mentioned the lacklustre demand for the iPhone 15 models this year, and things are unlikely to change with the iPhone 16 models that will be launching in 2024. It is interesting to hear analyst speak about upcoming launches, especially when most rumours so far have indicated that Apple will have notable changes with the next iPhone lineup.
But since the talk is about the vanilla iPhone 16 model, it is likely that the company will bring all the major upgrades in the premium Pro series, which allows the brand to make more money from its consumers and that’s ideally the right business move Apple has been making in the past few years to great effect.
