Google's biggest announcement for 2016 has been made. Say bye bye to Nexus smartphones. Google announced the launch of 2016 Pixel smartphones. The Google-Assistant powered Pixel phones will be launching in India on October 13, 2016 and will be available on Flipkart, Reliance Digital and Croma. The price of the phones will start ar Rs 57,000/
Pixel will be in available in Black, Silver and limited edition Blue colour variants. Google has a built-in 24x7 customer care service on it. The phone will also automatically update itself. The Google Pixel sports a 5-inch FHD, AMOLED (1920x1080, 441ppi), Gorilla Glass 4 display and the Pixel XL will sport a 5.5-inch QHD, AMOLED (2560x1440, 534ppi), Gorilla Glass 4 display.
The Pixel will come with Quick Charging capabilities and Google claims that you'll get 7 hours of battery with just 15 minutes of charging. Google Duo video-messenger app comes pre-install on the Pixel smartphone. Google is also offering free unlimited storage of videos and photos on Google Photos in actual high-res.
The Pixel smartphone comes with a 12.3-megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera. The camera of the Pixel smartphone offers zero shutter lag and comes with HDR+ by default. Google claims the Pixel comes with the fastest camera.
The device sports an aluminium unibody design with polished glass combination. It also has a fingerprint sensor on it. Google has hinted on two battery options on the Pixel phones at 2770 mAh and 3450 mAh. The phone will have USB Type-C connectivity.
The device will also have a quad-core 2 X 2.15GHZ + 2 X 1.6 GHZ processor, that will be backed by 4GB RAM. The most interesting bit of these devices is that Google will retain the 3.5mm audio jack on the Google Pixel smartphones. The two storage options on the Pixel and Pixel XL will be 32GB or 128GB.
