Google recently launched “Google PhotoScan”, a standalone app from Google Photos that lets users scan and digitise photos directly from their phone
PhotoScan is a free to download app that creates digital copies, detects edges, straightens the image, rotates it to the correct orientation, and removes glare.
Scanned photos can be saved in one tap to Google Photos to be organised, searched, shared, and safely backed up at high quality.
Furthermore, Google is rolling out three new editing tools which are auto enhance, new looks and advanced editing tools. Users can open a photo and then tap the pencil icon to start editing.
• Auto enhance: can be used for balancing exposure and saturation to bring out the details.
• 12 new looks: These looks use machine intelligence to make edits based on the individual photo and its brightness, darkness, warmth, or saturation, before applying the style.
• Advanced editing controls for Light and Color allow users to fine tune photos, including highlights, shadows, and warmth.
