Update: Facebook and Instagram appear to be working fine now. The outage lasted roughly 40 minutes affecting users in the United States, Asia, the UK and Australia.
New Delhi: Facebook and its 2012 acquisition Instagram are down for users around the world. Facebook says it is working on fixing the issue.
Both the services are unavailable both on the Web, as well as on mobile at the time of posting this.
"Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can," Facebook said on its website.
Facebook's Instagram service also says it is aware of outage and is working on a fix.
Representatives at Facebook were not immediately available for comment.
Users from the United States and India reported that they were unable to log on to the website.
