BlackBerry KEY2 With First-Ever BB Dual Camera, QWERTY Keypad Launched
BlackBerry has finally gone for a dual camera setup for its flagship smartphone.

BlackBerry KEY2 has been launched by TCL on Thursday at an event held in New York. The latest BlackBerry smartphone comes with a textured diamond grip back panel embedded on to a Series 7 aluminium alloy frame. KEY2 is also the first BlackBerry device to sport a dual camera. As a highlight, the BlackBerry KEY2 comes with BlackBerry's signature QWERTY keypad that also houses shortcut keys to launch apps and activate commands. BlackBerry KEY2 has been priced at $649 (~Rs 44,000) in the US and is available in Black and Grey colour variants. BlackBerry KEY2 is also expected to be launched in India considering its predecessor had made its way to the country last year. Since BlackBerry KeyONE was priced at Rs 39,990 at the time of its launch, expect the KEY2 to come with a similar price tag.

BlackBerry KEY2 Specifications

BlackBerry KEY2 comes with a 4.5-inch full-HD display with a 1620x1080 pixels resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Below the display is a 35 key backlit qwerty keyboard with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC that carries a 6GB RAM along with a 64GB/ 128GB storage, both of which are expandable up to 256GB. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 3500 mAh battery that also supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0.

As for its optics, the BlackBerry KEY2 comes with a horizontal dual camera setup with two 12-megapixel (f/1.8 and f/2.6) sensors and features like dual PDAF, Dual Tone LED flash and the capability to record 4k video at 30fps. At the front, the KEY2 sports an 8-megapixel sensor with screen flash.

BlackBerry KEY2 measures 151.4x71.8x8.5mm and weighs 168 grams. connectivity options on the device include dual (nano) SIM with 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is backed by a 3500 mAh battery which, as per the company, delivers two days of battery life.
