Ambala: Three accused in the Samjhauta Express blast case, lodged in the Ambala Central Jail, on Wednesday went on a hunger strike to protest Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's recent "saffron terror" remarks.
Aseemanand, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder, facing trial in the CBI special court at Panchkula, began their hunger strike, prison sources said. Aseemanand and others would continue their hunger strike till February 15, they said.
Shinde made the "saffron terror" comments during the Chintin Shivir of the Congress in Jaipur. A number of Pakistan-bound passengers were killed in the Samjhauta Express blast in 2007.
