RSS intervenes in Rajnath-Jaitley tussle
Jaitley has declined to attend any of the Central Election Committee meetings.

New Delhi: With the spat between party chief Rajnath Singh and general secretary Arun Jaitley seeing no end, the RSS has now intervened to ease the situation.

As per sources, RSS general secretary Suresh Soni called up Jaitley late last evening to find a solution to the stand-off.

Jaitley has declined to attend any of the Central Election Committee meetings till the appointment of Sudhanshu Mittal is revoked, sources said.

Mittal, a former aide of late party leader Pramod Mahajan was recently appointed as the co-convener of the party's organisation in the North-East by the party chief.

All eyes are on the CEC meeting to be held on Tuesday, as the party top brass is trying hard to convince Jaitley to attend the meet.

The refrain of the party leadership to Jaitley is that complaints, if any, can be sorted out in the post-poll scenario and any stand-off now could be detrimental to the party's Lok Sabha campaign.

However, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K advani has reacted to reports of a falling out between Arun Jaitley and party president Rajnath Singh saying it was just media speculation.

What's your reaction?
