Jaipur: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's chartered plane was diverted to Sanganer airport on Saturday night due to air traffic congestion in New Delhi.

Rahul was on his way to Delhi from Patna after addressing a party rally when the plane was diverted. "After nearly half-an-hour halt, the plane took off," Sanganer airport director BK Tailong said.

Coincidentally, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot was present at the airport to take a flight to Delhi when he got information about the landing and he received Rahul there, party sources said.

Gehlot also left with Rahul in the latter's plane instead of the regular flight, the sources said.
