New Delhi: The BJP versus Congress battle over CAG report on coal block allocations stalled Parliament for the third consecutive day on Thursday, resulting in both the Houses being adjourned till noon. Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Hamid Ansari and Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar have decided to meet leaders of political parties to resolve the deadlock.
BJP MPs shouted slogans minutes into the session forcing the Chairs to adjourn both Houses for an hour.
Constant disruptions have led to losses of more than Rs 3 crore so far. The cost of running the Parliament for one day alone is Rs 1.7 crore.
While the BJP earlier in the day said that Parliament won't run till Prime Minister Manmohan Singh steps down over the coal report, the UPA government accused the BJP of being the only party that is against a discussion in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) headed by BJP's Murli Manohar Joshi will be meeting on Thursday afternoon to take cognizance of the CAG report.
The Opposition also boycotted Speaker's mandatory meeting on Thursday morning.
