New Delhi: Newly appointed Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot on Monday dismissed the Narendra Modi factor in the Lok Sabha elections. "In many areas where he held rallies during the recent Assembly elections, the Congress won and in Chhattisgarh BJP's vitory was very close," Pilot claimed about Modi's performance during the recent Assembly elections.
"We lost the recent Assembly elections and accepted out defeat, we are analysing the reasons why we have lost. We want to move forward with the able leadership of party's senior leaders. We will be an able Opposition in Rajasthan and will abide to whatever the high command orders us to do," he said.
Pilot also thanked party supremo Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi for giving him the responsibility of RPCC chief.
In order to boost the party's campaign committee, the Congress also announced that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will monitor Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi's campaigns nationwide. However, sources said that her campaign will be limited to Gandhi strongholds of Rae Bareli and Amethi.
Meanwhile, Priyanka has herself preferred to let Rahul hog the limelight especially in an election which promises to be her brother's litmus test and all eyes are on AICC meeting scheduled to be held on January 17 where he is most likely to be anointed as the PM nominee.
