New Delhi: Contradicting the claim of Jaganmohan Reddy, a Congress MP and son of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister late YSR, Union Law Minister Veerappa Moily said here on Tuesday that he had never given any 'go ahead' to the Congress MP to continue his yatra in the state.
Rather, Moily said, the Congress MP was told by him to stop his yatra immediately and not to go anywhere in the Telangana region till the by-elections to the 12 constituencies are over.
Jaganmohan had met Moily, the in-charge of the Congress party affairs in Andhra Pradesh, in the national Capital on Tuesday.
Jagan told mediapersons after the meeting that he had got a conditional 'go ahead' from Moily and will continue his yatra in the Andhra and Rayalseema regions.
Jagan said all misunderstandings with party high command have been cleared in the meeting.
"Meeting went off very well and he has given the go ahead... to go continue with whatever I am doing. In fact this tour of mine was widely appreciated by him. If you quote that word of misunderstanding by any chance, then I would say that things are clear now and he has given me a go ahead," Jagan had said after the meeting.
But the senior leader and Law minister later clarified that he had told Jagan not to pursue his yatra in the better interest of the party and also not to venture into Telangana till the by-elections in the 12 constituencies are over.
"He's been told not to go to Telengana till by-elections to the 12 contituencies are over," Moily said.
The minister is believed to have asked Jagan to explain why he defied the diktat from the party high command and went ahead with his yatra that witnessed violence after the TRS workers protested his presence in the region.
