Pappu Yadav, a four-time MP was acquitted last year in the murder case of a CPI(M) leader Ajit Sarkar.
Patna: Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav who was last year acquitted in a murder case will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections on a Rashtriya Janata Dal ticket.
He is challenging Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav on Madhepura constituency. Pappu Yadav is a four-time MP. After winning from Purnia seat in the years,1991, 1996 and 1999, he also won the 2004 Madhepura bypolls.
In 2013, citing lack of evidence, the Patna High Court acquitted Yadav in a case related to the killing Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Ajit Sarkar in May 1998.
