Lucknow: Several leaders of Samajwadi Party have been in the news for allegedly breaking the law in Uttar Pradesh. It all began when Akhilesh Yadav led the Samjwadi Party to victory and formed the government in Uttar Pradesh. After the Samajwadi Party government came to power, the crime rate has gone upwards in the state.
While the miscreants are breaking the law with impunity, several Samajwadi Party leaders have also found themselves on the wrong side of the law.
Some of the major instances are:
October 8, 2012: SP leader Pandit Singh threatened and abducted CMO of Gonda and forced to made a list of appointees.
October 8, 2012: A woman alleged that SP MLA Madan Singh Gautam abducted and raped her for four months.
August 2012: A Transportation Department officials posted in Bijnor, Kaushlendra Yadav, alleged that SP leader of the part's military cell Dara Singh threatened to kill him. Actually Yadav had booked Dara Singh's car.
April 23, 2012: A man lodged case in Badaun against SP leader Abid Raza and his henchmen of forcing him to sign on land registration papers.
March 26, 2012: SP leader Bharat Singh opened fired on Jhansi BDO because he had reported against Singh for creating disturbances during elections.
In Kanpur one man was allegedly beaten up by a man close to a SP leader and he later committed suicide, sources said.
Such incidents began to be reported soon after the Samajwadi Party won the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in March 2012. In Sambhal a child was killed when SP workers opened fire to celebrate the win. SP workers allegedly beat up an independent candidate and his supporters in Bhadoi while they were accused on burning down the house of a Dalit woman. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had stayed in the house of the Dalit woman.
