BJP is all set to form its first government in the north eastern state of Assam where the party clinched a convincing victory showing the door to Tarun Gogoi led Congress government. The party easily crossed the half past mark in the early phases of the counting on Thursday paving way for a a BJP government led by chief ministerial candidate Sarbananda Sonowal. Congress's Tarun Gogoi led a spirited campaign across the state. In 2011, he had been elected with 78 seats out of a total of 126.
