Dharmapuri: Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader and AIADMK ally Vijayakanth on Tuesday alleged that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had always followed an "anti-people welfare policy" and said people should extend their support to the Jayalalithaa-led combine.
Addressing a public gathering here, Vijayakanth claimed Karunanidhi had failed to protect the poor from the hike in prices of essential commodities. He had also failed to act on the Mullaperiyar dam dispute with Kerala and help solve the Sri Lankan Tamils problem, he claimed.
Vijayakanth also wondered how PMK leader Ramadoss, who had given "zero" marks to the DMK rule, had joined the ruling party's alliance. The people should not heed the "communal voice" of PMK, he said.
