Haryana Election 2024 Results Announced: BJP Retains Power, Check Which Party Won How Many Seats
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a thumping victory in the Haryana Assembly elections 2024, defying exit poll predictions.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registered a thumping victory in the Haryana Assembly elections 2024, defying exit poll predictions. After a dramatic turnaround, the BJP crossed the halfway mark, leaving the Congress behind which was leading in the initial trends.

The official result for the state assembly elections is out and the BJP has bagged 48 seats, paving the way for a record third consecutive term. The Congress, on the other hand, has won 37 seats in the 90-member Legislative Assembly.

The Election Commission of India data showed that the Indian National Lok Dal, headed by Om Prakash Chautala and Abhay Singh Chautala, claimed victory on two seats- Dabwali and Rania. Meanwhile, three independent candidates also registered victory in the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.

With an intensive poll campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP managed to consolidate most non-Jaat and Other Backward Class vote share.

This election also marks the first significant direct contest between the BJP and Congress since the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The outcome will likely influence the narratives both parties will construct as they approach elections in other states scheduled over the coming months.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who contested the election from the Ladwa constituency registered victory from his seat, while other key candidates including Congress veteran Bhupinder Singh Hooda also retained his stronghold, Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency, in the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.

Haryana, which held single-phase voting on October 5, recorded an impressive voter turnout of 67.90% across 90 assembly constituencies in 22 districts. Key players in this electoral battle include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, INLD-BSP, and the JJP-Azad Samaj Party.
