Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel may be replaced before 2017 Assembly elections, sources within BJP told CNN-News18.
According to sources there was an adverse report against Anandiben's performance by senior politician Om Mathur who was sent by BJP chief Amit Shah to look into the growing disgruntlement in the state unit of the party.
Her failure to handle the Patel agitations and Congress' victory in the local bodies polls in the rural areas added to the poor show for which she can now be shown the door.
Anandiben could be made the Governor of a state while Nitinbhai Patel would replace her as CM of Gujarat.
Nitinbhai Patel is currently Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, Road and Building, Capital Project Minister in the Gujarat government.
