New Delhi: Amidst reports of a possible softening in her stance over the issue of debate over coal blocks allocations in Parliament, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Sunday insisted that the BJP would stick to its stand over the issue and demand Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation.
Addressing a press conference, Sushma said, "The UPA-II tenure is filled with scams. Each scam is trying to outdo the other."
She continued, "In 2004, just months after taking over, even the PMO under Manmohan Singh had opposed policy change. The revenues from coal allocations went to Congress and not to the exchequer. The PM must answer how did the allocations helped in power generation in the country."
Sushma said that the BJP held the PM directly responsible for the scam.
"The PM should resign. All allocations should be cancelled and an independent enquiry be set up. The BJP holds the PM directly responsible for the scam."
