Cricket Australia has announced that all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will return to India for the World Cup on Sunday, November 5 in Mumbai. Marsh left the Australia squad indefinitely and flew back home due to personal reasons earlier this week.

However, the cricket board has now confirmed that Marsh will rejoin the squad in Mumbai on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, the Australian players also wore the black band in the match against England, in honour of Marsh’s grandfather Ross.

Earlier, when Marsh returned to home, his teammate Marcus Stoinis revealed the text the all-rounder sent him before leaving.

“He’s got a family issue going on and we all know, family is very important, the most important thing really,” Stoinis told cricket.com.au, the digital arm of Cricket Australia.

“He sent me a message last night saying, ‘I’ll be home for a little bit and then I’m coming back to win this World Cup’ so that speaks to his mindset I think.

Stoinis added: “You miss him off the field – in terms of his energy and his personality around the team as much as we’re going to miss him on the field.”

Marsh has amassed 225 runs including a classy 121 in a 259-run opening partnership with David Warner against Pakistan.

Cameron Green came into the picture for the all-important match against England on Saturday with Marsh’s place up for grabs.

Meanwhile, Marnus Labuschagne top-scored with 71 after Australia were invited to bat first against England as they were bundled out for 286 at the world’s biggest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad.

Chris Woakes returned figures of 4-54 and was supported by fellow quick Mark Wood and leg-spinner Adil Rashid two each as Australia, who stand third in the 10-team table, look to boost their chances of a semi-final berth.

England are all but out of the race for the semi-final with five losses in six matches and another defeat will officially end their campaign.

Australia also missed the services of Glenn Maxwell against England on Saturday. Maxwell was unavailable under concussion protocols after falling off the back of the buggy in the dark after playing a round of golf on Monday as players took a break during the marathon tournament in India.
