The emergency ward of Delhi AIIMS has been temporarily shut after a fire broke out on the second floor of the hospital building on Monday, officials said. All the people in the vicinity were immediately evacuated after a fire call was received from the emergency ward of AIIMS at 11:54 am.
As per reports, the fire broke out in the endoscopy room, located above the emergency ward of the hospital, on the second floor of the old OPD.
As many as six firefighting vehicles rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The fire has now been brought under control.
A search operation to ascertain the cause behind the fire is underway in the hospital building.
