When Farhan Akhtar Decided To 'Play Cricket With Boys' On Anniversary Day

Bollywood couple Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar marked their second wedding anniversary on February 21. Known for their unabashed affection, they exchanged heartfelt posts online. However, what grabbed attention was Dandekar’s Instagram Story, where she humorously shared that Farhan Akhtar had left to play cricket on their special day.

With a touch of humour, she wrote, “Happy anniversary to me as he leaves to meet the boys for a game of cricket!” along with laughing and heart emojis. The accompanying video showed Dandekar reclining on a bed as Akhtar gave her a peck on the cheek before heading out. Adding to the comedic effect, Dandekar included Celine Dion’s song All By Myself as the background music.

Meanwhile, Dandekar shared a heartfelt message and photo on Instagram, expressing her love for Akhtar. Alongside an adorable picture with Farhan, she wrote, “6 and 2 just me and you. I love you. Happy anniversary.”

Farhan also wished his wife on this special occasion. He wrote, “By your side, proudly, always. Happy anniversary. Love you.”

In a previous interview, Shibani Dandekar shared that Farhan Akhtar’s wedding proposal took her by surprise. Speaking to Elle India, Shibani mentioned that it was a very unexpected proposal, as she had no idea it was going to happen, and they had not even discussed it. She added, “But this is again Farhan when he decides something, he does it.”

Shibani also mentioned that she was never the type who wanted to get married and have all the traditional celebrations. However, when Akhtar proposed, it just felt right in the moment, and after the initial shock, she said yes. Akhtar proposed to Dandekar in the Maldives, and they got married in 2022 in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

On the professional front, Shibani Dandekar’s last appearance was in Made in Heaven. Akhtar is set to return to the director’s chair with Don 3, starring Ranveer Singh.
