Sunny Singh, who was recently seen in Adipurush, has successfully wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming project, the neo-noir comic tragedy titled Risky Romeo, in Kolkata. Teaming up with the Kriti Kharbanda, Sunny Singh expressed his immense satisfaction with the completion of the shoot. Sunny Singh also expressed gratitude to director and writer Abir Sengupta for offering a project that has become dear to his heart. Sengupta also hinted at the actors’ distinctive appearance in the film, promising audiences a refreshing visual experience.
Sharing the pictures from the set, Sunny wrote, “Feeling fulfilled after wrapping the shoot for a film which is very close to my heart Risky Romeo. Thank you Abir Sengupta for offering me a character that I thoroughly enjoyed playing. Now looking forward to watching the film with you. Anushree Mehta, this collaboration was long due and see, here we are like a family now. Kriti Kharbanda, missed you on the wrap. Previously, speaking to Film Companion, Sunny Singh said, “I usually do not get offered characters like this and only when I started shooting I realised what Abir had seen in me and offered me such a different character. The genre of this film is completely unexplored in our industry and it’s a bold step towards showcasing emotions in a very different way. And the city that Abir has chosen to film Risky Romeo is adding to the magic of the story. I cannot wait for the audiences to experience what we experienced while shooting the film.”
Director Abir Sengupta admired Sunny and Kriti Kharbanda for their enthusiastic participation throughout the filming process. The filmmaker further elaborated on the shooting experience and mentioned that the team spent one and a half months schedule in Kolkata. During this period, he claimed that the cast and crew became family members, as everyone dedicatedly contributed towards bringing Risky Romeo to life.
Currently, the plot details of Risky Romeo have been kept tightly under wraps. However, Abir previously hinted at the movie’s intriguing elements, describing it as a mixture of dark humour, unconventional characters and unusual treatment. As of now, no official release date has been shared, but the film is expected to be released sometime in 2024, leaving fans eager to uncover the mysteries surrounding the movie.
