Vicky Kaushal has kickstarted 2023 on a fairly good note it seems. His romantic-comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke garnered rave reviews. And now, after the initial disappointment of his last film — The Great Indian Family, the actor has buckled himself up for two much-anticipated projects — Sam Bahadur and Dunki. Speaking of Sam Bahadur — the film, based on the biopic of India’s first field marshal Sam Manekshaw has already generated much hype among the masses. Ahead of Sam Bahadur’s trailer launch on November 7, Vicky Kaushal visited Sarva Dharma Sthal in Delhi to seek blessings.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Vicky Kaushal dropped a video from his visit to the Sarva Dharma Sthal — a sacred place for devotees to worship every religion found in almost every Army unit in India. The video captured the actor folding his hands as a form of prayer and seeking blessings. A Sikh soldier wrapped a holy saffron scarf around his neck while Vicky accepted a sword from the soldier, paying obeisance to the weapon. The actor kept his look simple, dressed in an olive-coloured shirt and jacket that he paired with black trousers. His head was covered with a white handkerchief.
The video ends with Vicky Kaushal saying thank you to the soldiers and bowing his head to them in respect. Along with the clip, he penned a short note that read, “Seeking blessings before the Sam Bahadur Trailer launch today at the Sarvadharmasthal of 6th Battalion, Sikh Regiment. Rabb meher bakshe!”
A day ago on November 6, Vicky Kaushal dropped a picture with Sam Bahadur’s director Meghna Gulzar on his Instagram stories as the actor-director duo arrived in Delhi for the film’s trailer launch. He also re-shared a video of his Sam Bahadur co-actor Sanya Malhotra who too flew down to the national capital for the important day. The trailer launch event will be taking place at Manekshaw Centre. According to a TOI report, the ceremony will witness the arrival of Manoj Pande — the Chief of the Army Staff, making the occasion more significant.
Sam Bahadur will tell the tale of the uncountable sacrifices Sam Manekshaw made for his nation including his victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. In a way, the film is also a tribute to his bravery and courage. Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neeraj Kabi, and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub are also a part of the ensemble cast. Sam Bahadur will hit the theaters on December 1.
