Katrina Kaif has revealed that her film with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, titled Zero, was initially called Katrina Meri Jaan. The film was supposed to feature Katrina in a double role. However, the film’s script underwent some changes and finally, Zero was made. Katrina said that she was keen on doing Anushka’s role in the film and went so far as to record an audition to show the director.
When asked about her double role in the film, Katrina Kaif told Mid-day, “That was when the film was called Katrina Meri Jaan.” She added, “Before that (Katrina Meri Jaan) was a different script then this (Zero) became a different script and then Shah Rukh became a part of this film. But it was honestly his conviction that made me do the film.”
Speaking about wanting to do Anushka’s role in the film, Katrina said, “In Zero, I actually wanted to play Anushka’s role… When the narration got over, I said ‘Sir, let me do that.’ He said, ‘No beta it’s already cast.’ He didn’t say it’s already cast. I think he said that we’ve already kind of thought of someone.”
Katrina mentioned that she became so attached to Anushka’s character that went ahead and recorded an audition tape to show director Aanand L Rai. She said, “I showed it to him on the laptop and he watched it and he actually thought about it he was like ‘I am really moved that you’ve done this give me a few days.’ So that gave me hope.”
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif was last seen in Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan and in Merry Christmas alongside Vijay Sethupathi. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara. Deepika Padukone recently reunited with Sidharth Anand for Fighter, also starring Hrithik Roshan. As for Ranbir, he was last seen in Animal and has recently signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War.
