Friends and fans rushed to Alia’s comments section to send wishes to the actress. While Alia’s mother Soni Razdan wrote, “All the best”, Sonam Kapoor commented, “Congratulations darling!” Alia’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani co-star Ranveer Singh also sent “love and luck” to the actress. Among others, Dia Mirza and Zoya Akhtar also congratulated the actress.

Alia Bhatt announced Jigra last month. The film is directed by Vasan Bala. Alia is not just playing the lead in the film but is also producing it. Just a few days back, Alia opened up about venturing into production and shared that it is ‘exciting and overwhelming’ at the same time.

“I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time,” Alia said as quoted by Film Companion.

The 30-year-old actress further talked about Jigra and revealed that the film is a story of ‘courage, passion and determination’. “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic, and enduringly timeless and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive,” Alia added.
