Kabir Khan's Tubelight might not be his brightest work but it did manage to bring two of B-Town's biggest Khans together. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan reunited on screen after Rakesh Roshan's Karan Arjun, giving a moment of cheer to the fans.
SRK was seen as magician Goga Goga who instils the faith of hope inside Laxman, in the film. The makers have now released a behind the scene video of the days SRK came on Tubelight sets to shoot his part.
Shot in a night, the video focuses on Kabir Khan's experience as he directed both the Khans together for the first time. Recalling his moments from the shot, Kabir says,"The entire energy on the sets was so positive. Everybody was filled with excitement."
The director also revealed SRK had been his senior when they both studied in Jamia Milia Islamia and often exchanged each other’s notes. "There are not too many people who can come into your film and demand attention. So I think it really needs to be Shah Rukh and Salman agreed with me. He has been very close to Salman and Shah Rukh and I have known each other since college days. In fact, it’s something not many people know but he was my senior in film school, in Jamia and I studied from his notes."
While Tubelight failed to garner as much attention as expected to be a festive release, still the film entered the notable Rs 100 Crore club within a week. Even if the rest of the plotline failed to impress the audience, fans were elated to see two of their favourite stars sharing a moment on-screen.
