Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas’ Ajayante Randam Moshanam was released at the cinema halls on September 12 and set the cash registers ringing at the box office. As per the reports, the film directed by Jithin Lal has surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark in its 3rd week. Sujith Nambiar has penned this film. Ajayante Randam Moshanam stars an ensemble cast of actors including Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph, Krithi Shetty, Surabhi Lakshmi and others. Produced by Magic Frames and UGM Entertainment, this film received accolades for its technological aspects, background music and other factors. Jomon T John is the film’s cinematographer. Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed the songs and the background score of ARM.
For the Magic Frames banner, ARM has become one of the biggest successes among all its productions. Till now, the banner has produced 26 films in the past 15 years. ARM’s soaring popularity can be gauged by the tickets sold at the box office on the National Holiday, October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. According to the reports, a record number of 4000 tickets were sold per hour through the ticket sales app, BookMyShow.
According to the reports, ARM had a budget of Rs 30 crore, including print and publicity. It was theatrically released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, coinciding with Onam.
The biggest highlight of the ARM
Actor Tovino Thomas, showcasing his versatility by playing three different characters, is one of the biggest highlights of ARM. He has been basking in the film’s success and talked about it in an interview with the Hindustan Times. When asked how was the film planned on a huge scale, he replied, “Yes. In the beginning, we had a certain budget and scale in mind. We wanted to shoot it with a native feel. Later, as the story developed, we realised it could be made for a wider audience.” Tovino said that it was at that time the scriptwriter and director sat together to explore bigger dimensions and then eventually released it in multiple languages.
After ARM, Tovino will next act in Avaran, directed by Shilpa Alexander. This film is currently in the pre-production stage.
