The world of live-action Spider-Man has been relatively quiet for almost a year now. With two labour strikes in Hollywood halting any progress on Spider-Man 4, there hasn’t been much news or hints about how Tom Holland’s beloved character will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But that could all change very soon. On Monday afternoon, Tom Holland posted a video on Instagram showing himself on the golf course. In the caption, he hinted at a “big announcement” coming the next day, sparking speculation among fans that Spider-Man 4 news might finally be on the horizon.
Despite some initial uncertainty, it seems likely that Holland will indeed don the red and blue suit once again for a new Spider-Man adventure.

Talking about the future of the Spider-man franchise, Holland told Entertainment Toninght, “I think as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker. As long as we can keep elevating and making the films better and making them mean more, then I’ll be there.”
“I’d be stupid to say that I wouldn’t be the luckiest kid alive if I got to do it again. There’s stuff going on, but we’ll have to just wait and see what happens,” he added.
While in conversation on the same issue, he told Collider that they (the team) have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of his character.
“Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character,” he explained.
However, Holland has also reportedly expressed a desire to eventually pass on the Spider-Man torch to another actor, reports Comicbook. As of now, Sony has not yet announced a release date for Spider-Man 4.
Meanwhile, the franchise fans can enjoy Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home on Disney+.
