This Actress Played Rajinikanth's Lover, Wife And Also Mother In Different Films

Rajinikanth will be next seen in a highly anticipated film Vettaiyan. It is directed by TJ Gnanavel. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier and Dushara Vijayan in the prominent roles. The film is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. With Anirudh Ravichander’s massy songs in the background, Vettaiyan is speculated to be another blockbuster for Rajinikanth after Jailer. She is the only actress who has acted as mother, lover and wife of Rajinikanth in the films. The actress is none other than the late Sridevi.

Sridevi was one of the popular actresses of the Indian film industry. The actress made her debut as a child artist in the 1967 Tamil film Kandhan Karunai at the age of four. Her first lead role came with the film Moondru Mudichu in 1976. She was 13 years old at that time. The actress played the role of Rajinikanth’s mother in the film. Technically, she played of stepmother. It was written and directed by K Balachander. Apart from Rajinikanth and Sridevi, actor Kamal Haasan played a prominent role in the film.

Fans loved the chemistry of Rajinikanth and Sridevi. The duo roughly did 22 films together after the release of Moondru Mudichu. In many Sridevi played the role of the actor’s love interest. Sridevi was found dead in her guest room at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel in Dubai, UAE in 2018. The cause was cited as accidental drowning. She was married to the film producer Boney Kapoor. She has two daughters with him–actresses Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
