Tere Naam To Ready, South Remakes Starring Salman Khan

Salman Khan is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. He has cemented himself as one of the leading names in the world of entertainment. He often enjoys back-to-back superhits in his career. Did you know some of his biggest releases were remakes of South Indian superhits? Today, let’s take a look at some Salman Khan’s Bollywood films which are remakes of South movies.

Tere Naam:

Salman Khan’s portrayal of Radhe Mohan is regarded as one of his best acting performances. The film is a remake of the 1999 Tamil film Sethu, which starred Vikram and Abitha as the leads. Tere Naam is directed by the late Satish Kaushik and was released in 2003. The leads of the film are Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla.

Wanted:

Wanted is one of the biggest and the most popular releases of Salman’s career. It is a remake of the Mahesh Babu starrer Pokiri, which was helmed by Puri Jagannadh. Wanted was made under the direction of Prabhu Deva, starring Salman Khan, Aisha Takia and Prakash Raj. It was released in 2009.

Bodyguard:

Released in 2011, Bodyguard became an instant blockbuster hit after its theatrical debut. It is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam film with the same name. Both the Hindi and Malayalam versions of the film are directed by the late filmmaker Siddique. The Malayalam version had Dileep and Nayanthara as the leads, while the Hindi version starred Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Ready:

This Anees Bazmee-directorial starring Salman Khan and Asin Thotumkkal is remembered as a fun-filled lighthearted entertainer. It is the remake of the Telugu language release of the same name. The Telugu version starred Ram Pothineni and Genelia D’Souza as the leads and was released in 2008. It was directed by Srinu Vaitla.

No Entry:

The classic Bollywood comedy led by names like Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan is a remake of 2002 Tamil release, Charlie Chaplin. The Tamil version starred Prabhu Deva and Livingston. No Entry was directed by Anees Bazmee, while Charlie Chaplin is helmed by Sakthi Chidambaram.
