In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, the actress said that she was able to memorise the whole page of the script after reading it once. “I don’t know if it’s difficult but lately when I started, the memory was much better. I could read a whole page and remember it,” said Sonali Bendre. However, after chemo, the actress said that she takes more time to memorise the script.

“Nowadays I need to take a little more time to memorize those lines. That could be the brain fog post chemo, ageing or I don’t know what it is but that is happening, and this is kind of weird for me,” said Sonali Bendre. In 2018, Sonali was diagnosed with stage four cancer. She underwent treatment in New York and became cancer-free in 2021. Since then, she’s been supporting cancer survivors and raising awareness.

In the exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Sonali Bendre revealed that she was an accidental actor. The actress said that she was never inspired to become an actor. “It just happened to me and as I progressed, the journey continued, I fell in love with it,” said Sonali Bendre. After the battle with Cancer, the actress realised her true love for acting and revealed she wanted nothing else from her life other than coming in front of the camera.

“Going through an illness gives you a lot of clarity when you say, ‘I want to survive this’ or ‘When I come out what am I going to do?’ The only thing you can think is going in front of the camera and that’s when I realised that I would not want to do anything else but this (acting),” said Sonali Bendre while conversing with News18 Showsa.
