Sunny Deol To Star In Telugu Director Gopichand Malineni's 'SDGM', Calls It 'Biggest Action Film' Of India

After riding high on the massive success of his comeback film, Gadar 2, looks like Sunny Deol has all intentions of keeping his calendar booked. Sunny is currently working on Lahore 1947 with Preity Zinta and has now announced a new film with Telugu director Gopichand Malineni.

Sunny Deol announced today that he will soon be seen in the action film. He wrote on Instagram, “Make way for the biggest action film of the country – #SDGM Starring Action Superstar @iamsunnydeol Directed by @dongopichand Produced by @MythriOfficial & @peoplemediafactory ❤️‍.”

The film is currently titled SDGM and the tagline reads, “Mass feast loading.” While the details of the project are currently under wraps, fans are excited to see what cinematic magic Sunny and Gopichand will bring to the screen together. The shoot of the film will begin soon.

Meanwhile, the actor also recently announced the sequel of “India’s biggest war film” Border 2. Taking to his Instagram handle, Sunny Deol shared a video in which we can hear him say, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.” The caption read, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2.” As soon as the video was shared, fans started commenting. Many fans wrote, ‘Super excited.” Many even called it a blockbuster.

Recently, a report came in that preparations for Border 2 are almost done and makers are now planning to begin shooting. “The team behind Border 2 has been working tirelessly to prepare everything and it’s been a long time in the making as they wanted to do justice to the magnitude of the first film. Now, as the preparations are almost done, the team will begin shooting, as it stands now, the team will begin shooting in October,” a source cited by Pinkvilla claimed.

Another report by Pinkvilla claimed that the makers are planning to release Border 2 on Republic Day 2026. “Border 2 is targeting to hit the big screen on Friday, January 23, 2026 – leading to the Republic Day holiday on Monday, January 26, 2026. Being a film celebrating the bravery of Indian Armed Forces, the makers feel that there is no better date than Republic Day for the arrival of this Sunny Deol and Ayushmann Khurrana film,” an insider revealed.
