Ssmilly Suri Makes SHOCKING Claim, Says Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt Were 'Never Family': 'Sibling Rivalry'
Mohit Suri's sister, actor Ssmilly Suri reveals that brothers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt went never a family to begin with.

Actor Ssmilly Suri, connected to filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, shared her thoughts on their feud, stating it didn’t affect her much as they weren’t close. She also revealed financial struggles due to work scarcity, sometimes surviving on just coffee and bananas.

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan about the fight between Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, she said, “It didn’t affect me. I was myself an outsider so these things don’t affect me. These things were bound to happen. We were never united. It’s sad but I don’t think we ever were a family. A lot of families go through this. Sibling rivalry and all that but everything is very hidden. Ghar ki baat ghar mein rehne chahiye (Family matters should stay inside the house).”

For 30 years, Mukesh and Mahesh ran Vishesh Films together. But in 2021, Mukesh took over the company, and now it’s managed by him and his children, Sakshi and Vishesh Bhatt. Looking back at dire financial conditions, she said, “I have lived with Rs 2 in the bank. When I went to Singapore to train for pole dancing, I had to buy that pole and it was $1,000. There were times when I had no money. I was calculating that if I don’t eat for four days, I might be able to buy the pole. So, I did that.”

She added that during Covid in Mumbai, she ran out of money. She had food for my pooches but not for myself. She said, “A lot of times even in Mumbai during Covid, I had exhausted my savings. I had enough food for my dogs but not for myself. So, I would survive on coffee and have one banana at the end of the day and sleep. This was the time I lost a lot of weight. Mohit (brother, filmmaker Mohit Suri) got very upset and he transferred some money. There have been days when I have starved. There also have been times when I have gone to the langar and eaten. There is this self-respect that comes into play when you have been treated badly.”

Ssmilly recently made a comeback with Zee5’s House Of Lies and is gearing up for the next innings of her career. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Smilie looked back at the years that passed by and says that she could never really reap the fruits of belonging to a family with a film lineage. “In my case, I never received the perks of nepotism. Yes, I began my career with Kalyug. But I had to audition for it. After that, I only worked with other production houses. It never mattered to anyone that I was Bhatt sahab’s niece or Mohit’s sister,” she said.
