From the debut albums of RIIZE and Super Junior-L.S.S to solo endeavours by industry stalwarts like SHINee’s Minho and NCT’s Ten, the roster is brimming with musical delights.

South Korean multinational entertainment agency, SM Entertainment has released its detailed roadmap for the coming months of 2024, promising a new era with SM 3.0 at the helm. The announcement, made on February 8, sheds light on several exciting developments set to take place in the coming months. Kicking off the year with a bang, SM Entertainment has already treated fans to some highly-anticipated releases. From the debut albums of RIIZE and Super Junior-L.S.S to solo endeavours by industry stalwarts like SHINee’s Minho and NCT’s Ten, the agency’s roster is brimming with musical surprises and the momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

According to their Q4 2023 report, March will see Red Velvet’s artist Wendy return with her second solo mini album, while NCT DREAM gears up to drop their newest mini album, promising fans a diverse array of sounds and styles to enjoy.

However, it’s not just about the music this year. SM artists are also gearing up for a series of electrifying concerts and fan meets. Following a stellar start in January with Minho’s fan con and NCT 127’s global tour, the calendar is packed with must-see events. From Super Junior-L.S.S.’s Asia tour to Taeyong’s solo concert and the grand spectacle of SMTOWN LIVE 2024, there’s something for every fan to look forward to.

Looking ahead to the latter half of the year, SM Entertainment has teased an impressive lineup of releases and events. RIIZE’s upcoming single and mini album, aespa’s highly-anticipated full-length debut, and several solo projects from industry heavyweights are set to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Moreover, virtual artists, like nævis group, will also step into the spotlight, adding to SM’s diverse roster.

In a nod to their commitment to innovation and expansion, SM Entertainment CEO Jang Cheol Hyuk, in his statement, revealed plans for four new group debuts in 2024, including the much-anticipated NCT WISH, a new girl group, and a British boy group and the groundbreaking virtual artist group nævis, reports Allkpop.

The excitement doesn’t end there. CEO Jang also reportedly announced the establishment of KMR, a dedicated publishing subsidiary. With this, SM is set to revolutionise the industry by supplying top-tier songs to artists both within and beyond the K-pop sphere. “In 2024, we plan to expand to recruiting composers in North America by establishing a local branch in the US. We plan to hold at least 2 large-scale song camps this year to sell songs and discover/recruit songwriters,” said Jang.

As SM Entertainment charts a course for the future under SM 3.0, fans can rest assured that the best is yet to come. With a focus on diversifying their music and amplifying the voices of their artists, the stage is set for a year of innovation, excitement, and unforgettable moments for all K-pop enthusiasts.
