Sharvari Wagh has been grabbing headlines for her performance in the horror comedy Munjiya. The film has been shattering all records at the box office. Well, soon she will be sharing screen space with Alia Bhatt in an untitled film within Aditya Chopra’s Spy Universe franchise. However, apart from Sharvari also is another film Vedaa with John Abraham lined up.
Recently, in a conversation with ETimes, Sharvari revealed her first meeting with Alia Bhatt. The actress mentioned that Alia was praising her Vedaa film teaser. “When I met Alia after we knew that we’re going to do this film, the first thing she said to me was that your Vedaa teaser looks extremely fun, and I can’t wait to watch that film, and that was a big compliment for me.”
She further mentioned that the fact Alia remembered and conveyed it to her boosted her confidence significantly. Recognizing Alia as a prominent figure in the industry, she expressed her admiration, stating that Alia is her favorite actress, and her words instilled a sense of confidence in her.
In March this year, YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani officially announced their maiden female-led spy film. The yet-to-be-titled film will see Bhatt and Wagh play super-agents in the action entertainer. The movie will go on floors this year.
“It is an exciting time for women in the industry because roles are written for them. The fact that films like spy-universe which were headlined by big superstars, and for me to be sharing screen with Alia Bhatt, who is a huge star, is a big deal and big responsibility,” Wagh, who made her Bollywood debut with YRF’s 2021 film “Bunty Aur Babli 2”, told PTI in an interview.
Director Nikkhil Advani’s action-drama, Vedaa, starring John Abraham and Sharvari is all set to release on the big screen. The teaser shows John Abraham takes on the role of the protagonist who is pitted against Abhishek Banerjee. The teaser offers a preview of their clash. Abhishek Banerjee is playing the role of a politician, hinting at complex power dynamics and gripping plot twists. Tamannaah Bhatia will also be seen in a crucial role.
