Badminton legend Saina Nehwal will be seen on The Great Indian Kapil Show this weekend. The promo was recently released and it featured a hilarious anecdote about Saina and her mother. Saina, who is known for her badminton skills, revealed her mother wondered if her daughter should have pursued tennis instead. The reason: Saina’s mother felt that the sport would have given Saina more income. The confession left Kapil in splits while Saina’s mother was embarrassed.
“Mummy bhi Steffi Graf (German’s former tennis player) ki bahut badi fan thi. Do mahine badminton khelne ke baad, mummy boli, ‘Yaar, tennis khelna tha, paisa zyada hota hai usme,’ (My mom was a big fan of Steffi Graf. Two months after I began to pursue a career in badminton, she expressed her thoughts that Saina should have pursued a career in tennis for it has more money)," Saina said. Kapil broke into a big laugh while Saina’s mother hid her face in her palms.

Apart from Saina’s confession, Sania Mirza also roasted Kapil in the promo. In the promo, Kapil asked Sania, “Sona toh aapne itna jeeta Sania, jab aap bahar jaati hai, jewellery aap fir sone ki nahi karti hongi aap (You’ve won several gold medals. So when you step out for jewellery shopping, you must not be buying gold jewellery)." With a straight face, Sania replied, “Nahi, sirf gold medal hum pehenke jaate hai… Pagal hai?"
Shocked by her clapback, Kapil asked her, “Were you my sister-in-law in my previous life?" Kapil and Sania decided to then role play as in-laws, which truly brought out Sania’s savage side.
The new episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show will also feature Mary Kom and Sift Kaur Samra. The episode will air on Netflix this Saturday.
