Ryan Gosling Calls Wife Eva Mendes His 'Hero'
When asked about his motto in life, Ryan Gosling revealed that he abides by a “deathbed” tactic with his decisions.

Ryan Gosling, who is awaiting the release of his film The Fall Guy, got candid about the film’s connection with his personal life and partner, Hollywood star Eva Mendes. A few days ahead of the film’s release, Ryan indulged in a conversation with The Fall Guy’s director David Leitch for Men’s Health magazine. During his interaction, Ryan Gosling called Eva his “hero” and said that their daughters—Esmeralda and Amada will always be his priorities. When asked about his “heroes”, The Fall Guy star named Eva along with his uncle. In addition, he also shared an incident on why he believes it.

Ryan Gosling said, “Well, Eva, obviously. And my uncle Bill. When I was in school, he said, ‘I’m gonna put all your achievements in a scrapbook.’ I didn’t want the scrapbook to stay empty. Uncle Bill believed in me at a time when I didn’t really believe in myself.”

When asked about his motto in life, Ryan Gosling revealed that he doesn’t have any motto, but abides by a “deathbed” tactic with his decisions. Explaining the same, the Barbie star said, “I often think about what’s going to matter to me on my deathbed that I did and that I didn’t do. While reasoning this, Ryan said, “It puts things into perspective. It always comes back to family first. I don’t think I will regret anything professionally, but I do think when it comes to Eva and the girls, they come first.”

Continuing further, Ryan Gosling said that he does have a realisation that his “deathbed” tactic is “not a good thing”. However, he advocated it claiming that “it is helpful” for him. Ryan said, “I don’t know, it’s probably not a good thing that I go deathbed, but it’s helpful for me. Anytime I’m struggling, I just think about whether it’s going to matter to me then because, yeah, this whole thing can be distorting…. Are you going to care about this thing, whether you did it or not, whatever the thing is? It’s extreme, but it’s helpful.”

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have been together since 2011. The couple has two daughters—9-year-old Esmeralda and 7-year-old Amada together. Ryan and Eva have shared the screen space in films like Drunk History Christmas and The Place Beyond The Pines.

Coming back to The Fall Guy, the film is headlined by Ryan Gosling alongside Emily Blunt. Backed by Universal Pictures, The Fall Guy will hit the theatres on May 3.
