Richa Chadha is currently enjoying the success of her recent show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, where she has received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Lajjo. Recently, the creators released a track titled Masoom Dil Hai Mera, which features Chadha showcasing her exceptional Kathak skills. In a recent interview, Richa opened up about her early days in the industry and her thoughts on being remembered for her role in Heeramandi.
According to Filmygyan, when asked about being compared to Madhuri Dixit’s character in Devdas, Richa explained that such recognition comes from within and is often rooted in personal experiences, including heartbreak. She shared her own journey, revealing that she auditioned multiple times for roles, only to lose them to ‘star kids or perhaps someone’s girlfriend,’ which she found heartbreaking despite her hard work and perseverance.
In other news, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal announced in February that they are expecting their first child. Reports indicate that Richa is in her third trimester and is due to give birth in July. The couple met on the sets of Fukrey, fell in love, and got married under the Special Marriage Act in 2020, later celebrating their union with a ceremony in 2022 attended by close friends.
Richa’s latest project, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, holds a special place in her heart as she began filming just 10-15 days before her wedding to Ali. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, she revealed, “I started shooting for Heeramandi just days before my wedding, and at that time, motherhood was not on my mind.”
As she anticipates the arrival of her first child, Richa admits she’s still uncertain about her parenting approach. “I don’t know what kind of upbringing I want to give my child. It’s like planning to write a novel and being asked what kind of story it will be. You can’t predict these things. This is all very new for me,” the 37-year-old actress shared.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali series also starred Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal, and Sanjeeda Shaikh in the lead roles.
