Gopika, a prominent figure in the South Indian film industry, is once again in the spotlight for her latest viral photos on social media. The former actress, known for her roles in several blockbuster hits alongside renowned actors, has captured attention with snapshots showcasing her joyous moments with her family.
In the images, Gopika is seen radiating happiness alongside her husband and two children, a daughter and a son. The photos, believed to be taken during a family function, depict Gopika looking as youthful as ever. Married to Ajilesh Chacko since 2008, she has since settled in Brisbane, Australia.
Born Girly Anto, Gopika entered the film industry with her debut in the Malayalam film Pranayamanithooval in 2002. Directed by Thulasidas, the movie starred Jayasurya, Gopika and Vineeth Kumar in leading roles, alongside a supporting cast including Dinu Dennis, Harisree Asokan and Salim Kumar. Produced by P.K.R. Pillai under the banner of Shirdi Sai Creations, the film featured music by Rajamani and Mohan Sitara, cinematography by Anil Gopinath and editing by G. Murali.
Her second Malayalam venture, 4 the People, released in 2004, emerged as a blockbuster hit. The same year marked her Tamil debut with the movie Autograph, directed by and starring Cheran. Following its success, the film was remade in Telugu as Naa Autograph, with Gopika reprising her role alongside Ravi Teja. Directed by S. Gopal Reddy, the Telugu version also featured Bhumika Chawla, Mallika, Kanish, and Prakash Raj. Produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under Sai Ganesh Productions, the music was composed by M. M. Keeravani.
Gopika’s last appearance on screen was in the Malayalam film Bharya Athra Pora, released in 2013. Directed by Akku Akbar, the movie starred Jayaram as the male lead alongside Gopika.
Despite stepping away from the limelight, Gopika continues to be remembered fondly by her fans for her memorable contributions to cinema.
