Raza Academy Demands Ban On Priya Varrier's Video of Manikya Malaraya Poovi
The Raza Academy has raised an objection to the song terming it as an insult to Prophet Muhammad and his wife Hazrat Khadeeja.

It looks like the fringe has found its new target to stay in the news. At the forefront of all is the Raza Academy from Mumbai. It's the same controversial organization, involved in Azad Maidan Riots. This time their target is internet sensation Priya Varrier and the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from her debut movie Oru Adaar Love.

The Raza Academy has raised an objection to the song terming it as an insult to Prophet Muhammad and his wife Hazrat Khadeeja. They have urged makers of the movie to remove it immediately from the movie stating that it will hurt the sentiments of Muslim across the world.

Raza Academy has also submitted a written complaint to Datta Padsalgikar, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai and CBFC Chief, Prasoon Joshi asking them to block the videos of the film. In the complaint letter, they have also cited about an FIR against the film in Hyderabad alleging that no action has been taken so far and the CBFC Chief should look into it.

Talking to News18 Muhammad Saeed Noori founder and President of Raza Academy said "The lyrics of the song are of a Malayalam folk song which is only sung during the events of Muslims, using it in movies or any form of entertainment is against the Islamic laws.

He further added that "If the song is not removed from the film then the members of Raza academy will protest nationwide".

Oru Adaar Love revolves around the love story of two students and warmth of friendship. The teaser of the film was released recently, suggesting a nostalgic ride through the corridors of school and young-age romance. However, the background score used in the teaser has given fodder to the fringe.

This complaint of the Raza Academy has come after a Muslim group in Hyderabad filed a similar complaint at Falaknuma Police Station against internet sensation Priya Prakash Varrier and the makers of the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi for allegedly hurting their sentiments.
