Ranbir Kapoor opened up about the life advice he has received from business mogul Mukesh Ambani. On Thursday, Ranbir was honoured with the Maharashtrian of the Year award for his impressive work in cinema last year. Accepting the award, Ranbir called ‘Mukesh Bhai’ his inspiration and revealed that the businessman has always told him to never let the success of your work get to your head and never let a failure pull you down. Mukesh Ambani, who was seated in the audience, was seen smiling at Ranbir as he shared the anecdote.

“I’ll keep this very short and simple. Mere zindagi ke teen simple lakshya hai, teen stamb hai (I have three goals, three pillars that I follow). Pehla ke acha kaam karo, badi vinamrata se kaam karo (Do good work). Mukesh bhai (Mukesh Ambani) se maine bahut prerna li hai (I have taken inspiration from Mukesh bhai). He always told me to keep your head down and continue to work. Don’t take success to your head and failure to your heart,” Ranbir said in a moving speech.

“Dusra, acha insaan bano, ek acha beta, acha baap, acha pati, acha bhai, acha dost, aur sabse, sabse important, ek acha naagrik bano. Mujhe bahut garv hai ke main ek Mumbaikar hoon aur aise puraskaar mere liye bahut mahiyne rakhta hai toh bahut shukriya (Second, be a good person — a good son, father, husband, brother, friend and most importantly, be a good citizen. I am proud to be a Mumbaikar and this award is very important to me so thank you for this honour),” Ranbir added.

Besides his win, Ranbir also broke the internet with his sweet gesture towards Jeetendra. In a video gone viral, Ranbir was seen protecting him from a mob of cameras as he escorted him to his car.
