Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sealed their union with a kiss as they stepped out hand-in-hand of Windsor's St George's chapel following an emotional royal ceremony on Saturday. The two exchanged vows in front of 600 guests including the Queen and famous faces such as Oprah Winfrey, ace tennis player Serena Williams, actor George Clooney, former football star David Beckham and Priyanka Chopra, who is said to be Meghan's one of the closest friends.
Post the royal wedding, Priyanka took to Instagram to wish "friend" Meghan and Harry "love happiness and togetherness always." The actor, who attained international fame after her successful American Television series Quantico, also shared a series of pictures of the newlyweds on her official account.
"Every once in a while there is a moment when time stands still.. that happened today.. You my friend.. were the epitome of grace, love and beauty. Every choice made at this wedding by you both will go down in history, not just because it was your wedding but because this incredible wedding stood for change and hope. Both things that the world needs desperately. Thank you for being the perfect picture of all things good.. seeing your union and love blessed in front of my eyes Made me so happy.. and tear up," she wrote.
Priyanka was the only Bollywood star to have attended the wedding of the year. She and Meghan had first met at the annual ELLE Women in Television dinner a couple of years ago. For the wedding, Priyanka opted for a custom Vivienne Westwood single breasted blazer, which she teamed up with a matching pencil skirt and a fascinator hat by Philip Treacy.
