Prabhas fans have a lot to celebrate! The actor, who made waves with the song Arivaai from the movie Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in 2023, recently enjoyed another blockbuster hit with Kalki 2898 AD.
Kalki 2898 AD, featuring an all-star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Saswata Chatterjee, has been a tremendous success across India. Despite the movie completing its initial release days, its popularity shows no signs of waning. Even with the release of other big films, Kalki 2898 AD remains the talk of the town.
The film has grossed an estimated Rs 990 crores globally in the first 24 days and on its 25th day, it added over Rs 10 crores, pushing its total to Rs 1000 crores. The actor has an exciting lineup of movies like Kalki 2, Salaar 2 and Spirit that is keeping his fans eagerly waiting for the release.
Along with these, the Sita Raman director Hanu Raghavapudi is making a period film with him. The film, which has already completed its pre-production work, has a chance to go on floors next year. It is also known that the title Fauji has been fixed for this movie. The latest buzz suggests that Pakistani actress Sajal Ali may be cast opposite Prabhas in this film. Director Hanu Raghavapudi has revealed that the film will be a period action drama set in historical fiction. The story is said to be a unique love story set against the backdrop of war, taking place before India’s Independence.
Sajal Ali is not all new to the showbiz industry. She has already done a Bollywood movie alongside Sridevi in her last film Mom before her untimely death. She acted as Sridevi’s daughter. In the promotion of the film, Sridevi said that the sudden death of Sajal’s mother had shocked her deeply and said that Sajal is like her third child and now she feels like she has another daughter. The Mom actress spoke to Hindustan Times after Sridevi’s death. She said, “She is like a mother to me. Right now, I am in shock. I feel like I have lost my mother again.” The film Fauji, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, will have a substantial budget. Pre-production is progressing rapidly, with Vishal Chandrasekhar composing the music. Three songs have already been recorded, and large sets are being constructed around Hyderabad. The project is expected to commence filming in September. There are also rumours that Prabhas will portray a British soldier in the film and to match the film’s theme they are considering the pan-Asian actress Sajal Ali.
